Orkut has recently added one of the biggest privacy feature that enables users to make their scrapbook visible to persons in contact list only.



I am sure this will certainly help in reducing the "unwanted friend requests" from spammers and profile surfers.This privacy feature has been extended to album,videos,testimonials and feeds.
To adjust your level of privacy, go to your settings page and click on "privacy".

Orkut team is constantly adding some new feature to retain its users and to give some competition to growing popularity of Facebook. Just couple of months backs they changed the looks of the interface panel, added "Ask a friend" option and enhanced user's privacy. Extending this impressive list now Orkut has added "Scrap Notification" feature.



With this you get a notification at the right hand side bottom of main page of all the new scraps you have received. This add-on looks quite impressive as I was bored of refreshing the page most of the time.In case this feature is not activated in your account then go to http://www.orkut.com/NotificationsSettings.aspx and click on "New scrap Notification".

Some 15 days ago,Shiv sena workers beat up a cyber cafe owner and send out a letter to other cyber cafes in Mumbai.The letter states "This is a request-cum-directive to you to block Orkut. If you do not do so, we will respond in our own way."
Is this some kind of a joke,who are they to enforce rules without having legal recourse.During this whole incident Police were acting as mute witnesses. We are a democratic country and everybody has a right to do what he likes under law.Shiv sena has assumed that they are the only one who will make any kind of law in their town and nobody else has right to do so.
Moreover they also providing a free software to block the orkut site and even want a review of Mr.Kalam on that.
I think the main aim of Shiv sena behind these incidents is just to gain publicity and dispense a fear among common man.
