Search people with Spock

Saturday

Spock.com is a site where you can search people by typing name or keywords associated with him/her.
They also provide an option to add your personal information & upload pictures on this search engine. The best part is that you can get all links of person's other locations on web like id on social networking sites.
In addition to this they also offer a widget of all popular searches by you to place in your blog or web page. This could be an easy way to add images to your blog posts, or present a source for additional search information on a given person.
Here is the widget offered by them.

I searched for Felipe Massa and found all the links related to Massa. One thing that I notice in that page was "Is this you? Claim Your Search Result" tag line .
The widget itself is very basic in its offering. The flash version seems to be a bit buggy, but it looks better than the java script widget, which is static. The design is also rather bland, and it’s lacking sharing features for others to use it for their own purposes. The only interactivity for this widget, in fact, is the ability to return to Spock’s query for more details on the people you’ve shown in the widget. While there are no one-click options for adding this widget to your various blogs or social networking platforms, the widget will automatically adjust according to the parameters of the space with which it’s been allotted. This could be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on the space in which you wanted to share the widget. It makes content immediately mobile, and adds some value to the act of performing a search. I’d like to see this type of functionality spread across other widgets.
