IE7 promotion ideas ??

Tuesday

There is no doubt that IE7 has been so far a flop show in front of Firefox and Opera. Besides having some good features ie7 hasn't created any buzz and many users have reported the add-ons is still the factor that separate both of them. Last night I received a mail forwarded by one of my friend titled " Microsoft-Dont miss the chance" and I am sure many of you have already received this mail.
The content of the mail is as follows.

Dear Friends,

Please do not take this for a junk letter. Bill Gates is sharing his fortune. If you ignore this you will repent later. Microsoft and AOL are now the largest Internet companies and in an effort to make sure that Internet Explorer remains the most widely used program, Microsoft and AOL are running an e-mail beta test.
When you forward this e-mail to friends, Microsoft can and will track it (if you are a Microsoft Windows user) for a two week time period.
For every person that you forward this e-mail to, Microsoft will pay you $245.00, for every person that you sent it to that forwards it on, Microsoft will pay you $243.00 and for every third person that receives it, you will be paid $241.00. Within two week! s, Microsoft will contact you for your address and then send you a cheque.

In addition to this there were few attachments carrying proof of the money

Looking at all these I think if this idea of promotion is forwarded by Microsoft then it sucks but I am sure that Microsoft like reputed company know better methods to promote their products. There is also most obvious possibility that this is mailed by rivals of ie7 who wants to defame their competitor. In either case IE7 is getting good promotion.
